Description

This is a 60 minute presentation with annotated power point discussing:

  • The danger and likelihood that many lawyers have failed to plan for retirement or disability, including dementia and disease;
  • How local and state bars have been handling these increasing problems;
  • How to clean up “messy” (ie., unplanned) attorney departures from practice;
  • Intervening and Interviewing the declining lawyer;
  • Communications with clients, courts and opposing counsel in messy departures;
  • Appointment of Receivers and court intervention;
  • Finally, the planning every lawyer should be making, regardless of age and future intention

Claude E. Claude has served as course director and creator of numerous CLE institutes and advanced courses. 

Mr. Ducloux has a long legacy of bar service, including being President of the Austin Bar Association, and serving as Chair of almost every major bar-related entity, as well as the Texas Bar Foundation.  He is a board-certified civil trial and appellate attorney in Texas.
